Lovell Canyon Clean Up - June 10, 2009
On June 20th the Resource Protection and Law Enforcement Team with volunteer help conducted a clean-up in Lovell Canyon. Over the course of the clean-up they filled a 20-yard dumpster, including several hundred pounds of spent shell casings from target shooters. The law enforcement team was aided by a sorority and civic group from UNLV adding a dozen participants. One lone female volunteer collected 6 large bags of recyclable plastics, uncovering a rattlesnake in the process. At the time, there were 3 men target shooting when the team arrived. They were asked to stop for safety reasons and one of the shooters pitched-in to help in the clean-up.
