This program was developed in 2010 by a group of agencies and organizations (the Children's Outdoor Bill of Rights Alliance) to encourage Nevada's children to participate in outdoor recreational activities, engage, in lifelong learning adventures, and become stewards of the environment.

The Southern Nevada Agency Partnership provided initial funding as the lead agency in this initiative. Additional groups, agencies, and organizations provide funding, coordination, and other forms of support.
