Jumbo Springs Wilderness Area is located on the southeast sides of Jumbo Peak and includes the upper canyons of three major washes that drain toward Lake Mead. Elevations range as high as the 4,700-foot ridge on the northern end. The area is mostly granite ridges and canyons with sparse vegetation. There are granite domes and smooth cliffs along the ridge tops, and the side slopes are strewn with coarse-grained boulders. Spectacular views of Lake Mead can be seen from the ridges. The Jumbo Springs Wilderness is wholly managed by the Bureau of Land Management.
