The photo below was taken on approach to Big Dunes turning off Highway 95 about 6 miles past the 373 junction. Notice the spring blooms of desert primrose carpeting the ground. Big Dunes is a favorite site for Dune Buggy and OHV (off-highway vehicle) enthusiasts. Big Dunes is managed by the Bureau of Land Management and there are some areas of restricted use at the site.
